Armina’s Story

After leaving a domestic violence relationship, Armina—a single mother of two—faced the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding her life alone.

When Armina reached out to Lifeline, she was met with compassion and immediate support. We provided temporary shelter, winter essentials, and childcare assistance to empower her to continue working and rebuilding. During one especially difficult period,

Lifeline was honored to create a meaningful Christmas experience for her children, bringing joy and relief during a season of uncertainty.

When her car broke down, threatening her ability to work, Lifeline advocated on Armina’s behalf to secure full repair coverage. This seemingly small act removed a major barrier and gave her the chance to keep moving forward.

Today, thanks to supporters like you, Armina has regained stability. She secured full-time employment, reliable transportation, and eventually signed a lease for her own apartment—creating a safe, stable home for her family.

In her own words:

When I think about the critical assistance Lifeline Ministries gave me, I don’t just think about the financial help. I think about what that help represented during one of the most difficult seasons of my life.

There was a time when I was trying so hard to keep everything together for myself and my children. I was working, trying to keep a roof over our heads, trying to keep our lives moving forward, and there were moments when I genuinely didn’t know how I was going to make it through.

Lifeline Ministries stepped in when I needed it most. They helped me with things that may seem simple to some people, but when you are struggling, those things mean everything. They helped with housing, transportation, and other needs that allowed me to stop constantly worrying about what was going to go wrong next.

What they gave me was more than assistance—they gave me stability. And stability changed everything for my family.

It meant my children could have a safe place to call home. It meant I could focus on working and rebuilding instead of constantly living in survival mode. It gave me the opportunity to start looking forward instead of always being afraid of what was coming next.

Most importantly, Lifeline reminded me that I wasn’t alone. When you’re going through a difficult season, sometimes the hardest part is feeling like you have to figure everything out by yourself. They showed me that there are people in your community who genuinely care and are willing to step in and help you get back on your feet.

Today, I’m in a much different place. I’m still working hard, still building, and still taking things one step at a time, but I have stability. My family has stability, and I don’t take that for granted.

So when I say Lifeline Ministries helped me, I don’t mean they simply helped me get through a difficult moment. They helped give me the foundation to rebuild my life and create a better future for my children.

And for that, I will always be grateful.
