SURVIVAL
When basic needs aren’t met, people can't move forward. Food, shelter, clothing, hygiene, and safety provide immediate support people need to make it through today—and begin thinking about tomorrow.
Serving hot meals twice a week at Kollen Park and distributing boxed groceries monthly.
Co-leading 4 warming centers across Holland, providing refuge roughly 50 nights each winter.
Connecting individuals to emergency shelter, by providing tents and/or partnering with local shelter organizations.
Keeping people clean with a mobile shower trailer serving up to 40 people a day and other essential hygiene care.
Providing the essentials that help kids show up ready for school and adults ready for work.EMPOWERMENT
The leap from survival to stability is very often oversimplified.
It takes more than willpower. It requires a permanent address, phone line, and dependable transportation (among other things). Lifeline works diligently to remove barriers and empower individuals and families step by step to reach their goals.
Providing phone cards, bus fare, and bicycles to get people to work, appointments, and more.
Strengthening job readiness and everyday life skills to support greater independence.
Covering childcare costs to keep parents stably employed and juggle other demands.STABILITY
Cycle-breaking stability is more than a roof overhead. It includes living-wage employment, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful community connection.
